a peek into our week ...

We have been busy!

Here's a look into our week ...
Our reading series, SuperKids, comes with nonfiction magazines for each unit.  My kids jumped right in on the first magazine and loved to read about different kinds of shoes!
I am loving math centers this year!
We jumped into reading groups this week, too!
One of my reading groups was reading about different seasons.  We are writing about the different seasons in the blank books from Target's dollar section.
We are adding using beads ...
... and number lines.
Yesterday at recess I realized that with the 4 adults outside, we had five radios!  Just made me laugh!
This weekend is our second weekend for The Way's production of "Trapped: Human Beings Are Not Objects."  This is a 90 minute walk through drama.  The picture above is a peek into the Heaven scene.

Have a great weekend!

SLANTbox Exchange

Have you been part of the SLANTbox Exchange? It's a lot of fun!!  Check out Jameson's page from Lessons With Coffee to learn more!
Lessons With Coffee
I was matched up with Sarah from Learning by Hart.

Sarah and I have a lot in common!  We love Mr. Sketch markers, the color pink, pizza, and sports!
Jameson's theme for August was hometown.  Sarah is from Boston and sent me Necco wafers (manufactured in Boston), kids book of things to see and do in Boston along with some history, notepads of her favorite team - Boston Red Sox, a Mason jar tumbler, and York peppermint patties (because they're my favorite!).

If you haven't done a SLANTbox Exchange, follow Jameson's blog so you know when the new sign ups are online!

Five for Friday {September 5}

Happy Friday!  It is time to link up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for my

We use the enVision math series in my district.  A game is included at the beginning of each unit to send home for the children to play with their family.  We played this one at school with a partner before sending it home.  Quick review activity to use a number line to find which number is greater.  We had all 33 kids in my room playing together!
I love my magnet punctuation marks!  It makes fixing sentences fun!  One thing I don't like to cover with my littles is talk about an intruder drill, but unfortunately we have to.
My friend and co-worker, Leah, and I didn't plan this!
Our church hosts a walk-through drama each fall.  This is a sneak peek into the heaven scene from our dress rehearsal last night.  We kick off next weekend and will have several thousand people come through.
We planted grass seeds today.  I shared last week that we were going to plant the grass seeds in cups and attach the child's picture to the front of the cup so it will look like they have grass hair!  After we had finished, there was a little bit of grass seed left that I didn't want to take home, so our behavior specialist took it around the playground and spread it.  It will be interesting to see if we get any new grass out of it!  The kids' cups are adorable!

Have a great weekend!  I am going to enjoy not doing any school work this weekend since I am all caught up!
